BUILD CONNECTION
Arts education allows kids to naturally make connections to their parents, to their friends, to their pets, to teachers, even to this world. Also, Art builds connections across every other curricular area in their future school days.
PRECURSOR TO WRITING
This age group likes to scribble. Scribbling and drawing have their origins in the same parts of the brain that will later be used for writing.
Children who are encouraged to draw and scribble ‘stories’ at an early age will later learn to compose more easily, write more effectively, and with greater confidence.
HAND-EYE COORDINATION
When drawing, painting, or doing any other intricate task, it’s our eyes that guide our hands to do our bidding. Playing with shapes, tracing, and even coloring within lines, help this age group kids to develop hand-eye coordination.
